Panthella Table Lamp

The domed shade allows light to flow downwards, while the reflective base evenly distributes it throughout the room. The light source of the lamp is placed under a milk-white, half-sphere formed aluminium shade. Together with the trumpet-formed base, it participates in the wonderful light-spread procedure and the harmonic form.

The original idea for the Panthella series was to create a lamp where the base, as well as the shade, acted as reflectors to accentuate the light it created and evenly distributed it throughout a space. But Verner Panton being Verner Panton, had to employ smooth, sweeping curves, bright gloss finishes and unique, original form. The result was the Panthella series, which remain an iconic set of designs even today, more than four decades after the lamps debuted.
